I cannot view the forum with my windows phone.
The rest of slow travel works great.
Editing to add:
1. See below for a solution
2 I shared this with our tech forum as this issue can apparently happen not just on our website but others via Windows 8 phones, so I thought others might be interested in the solution."Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. - Emerson

I'm able to use the forums just fine in IE on my Windows 8 phone. Does it not display the forums correctly or is it some other issue trying to interact once displayed?

so everything on slow travel works
until I try to use the forums
the screen comes up and says "tap to open"
then when you tap it comes up and says
"this page requires an app"
The UC Browser it recommends does not work either.
I never get to the forums just a loop back to the tap to open screen
I know it is a setting somewhere but I cannot find it.
thanks for any help or guidance"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. - Emerson

How are you trying to navigate into the forums? If you open IE on the phone and navigate to slowtalk.com then and click on the link there to navigate to the forums does it work? That path takes me directly to the forums (slowtalk.com/groupee) with no prompt for another app.

Kim's right - a screen shot would be useful, especially of the UC Browser recommendation. "Tap to open" is usually associated with trying to open some type of file, not navigating to an URL.

Well I am off to Austria in the morning so I will not be able to try any fixes until I return, but here are the requested screen shots.
Once again thanks for all your help!

Okay - here's what Brian at Social Strata has to say:I've done a little bit of digging. It sounds like this is a known issue with Windows Phone 8 that can happen on many websites (and has happened on some major websites like YouTube even). Some users have suggested trying to change the browser's settings from "Desktop version" to "Mobile version" to see if that helps. If the issue persists, the best course of action is probably to contact Microsoft support. The "Search for app in the Store?" option is a "feature" (perhaps more accurately a "nuisance") built-in to the browser. I have no idea what criteria the browser uses to determine if that prompt should be displayed or not. Microsoft should know, and they don't seem to have much documentation explaining how/why they have this behavior in their mobile browser.
Another thing people suggest to try is to clear the browser's history (cookies, passwords, websites) and reboot the phone to see if that helps.
Hopefully one of these tricks works to get around Microsoft's browser issues!

Good to hear - I just checked the settings on my phone and have IE set to Mobile Version. I don't remember if that was the default when I got the phone about a year ago or if I changed it. I certainly won't be changing it to Desktop Version now.

I found that if I start in web version then switch to mobile version of IE it works. Just will not start in mobile version.
Once again thanks everybody and Vienna was great.
