You got it in one - guess it was pretty obvious. Wonder if this would have been less simple to answer -- found it when searching for the Bruges shot

My first thought was also Bruges but (determined not to use google image search!) I think it looks more like Colmar?

Oh - now a new post has popped up Yes I literally slept through that round. Off to see what the answer is!

And for the post above, my guess is Croatia and just because it is about the only place I know there (never been), Dubrovonik?

And as I have now had a lot longer to be tempted, ( sygnómi !) have done a google and found it and know that my first guess was well West of the spot. However, I will keep quiet although I have laid a big clue in these sentences for those following. Google makes this much too easy!

Just when I was getting ready to give you a good hint. I told you that google was an amazing!

The castle in the middle of the harbor is the Bourtzi. Between the spit of land and the castle is the only entrance to the city. Back in the 1400s a chain was raised to protect the harbor, this allowing the town to sleep at night. The chain would rip through the hulls of unwelcomed guest. The other side of the castle the water is way to shallow to allow passage of a ship. Later on it became the home the city's executioner. Also the location of said events. Not bad quarters, but the job stinks.

Go head Felicity you put the leg work into finding it.... The Answer is:_____________________________

BTW if we get cut off in the middle of the game you can always find me at www.tbtrips.blogspot.com - (still a work in progress)

We seem to be still alive! But Pauline's sloweurope forum is filling up with the refugees and I hope that most will find each other over there for more of the same.

Clue if anyone is still here - a divided island.

Have no idea, except the crosses with their ironwork look like those I remember from a visit to Austria.

Based on the surnames I can see (I zoomed and I think it is Egger), I would guess Austria too! Somewhere in the Salzburg region perhaps?

Sorry, I thought we'd finished. A tricky one, unless you've been there. Pleasant town, a church with a lovely interior, and cemetery to match. Near Bad Reichenall on the border with Austria.

    There.

This photo game is continuing over on the sloweurope.com forum, Peter. Have you joined there? It is just like Slowtalk as it is run by it's founder, Pauline.
