Hello everyone,

In a few months I'll be moving to Japan (the Osaka area) for a year, and I'm planning to take an unlocked smartphone with me. I'd like to purchase a sim card to use in the phone while I'm over there, but I have some constraints.

-I don't want to sign up for a 2-year contract, since I'll only be in Japan for 1 year.
-My budget is limited: I'd like to avoid spending > 4,000 yen/ month on talk/text/data unless absolutely necessary.
-I don't need any more than 1 or 2 GB of data per month.
-I need to avoid entering into a contract with hidden fees or lots of fine print. I do speak some Japanese, but my ability to read kanji is still limited.

I'd be really appreciative of any advice or suggestions!

Thanks for your help,

JapanTraveler
