Support SlowTrav
Become a Member
Become a Supporting Member of the message board. This month we are implementing
premium features on the message board for paid members ($25 or $50 per year).
Help us cover our costs by becoming a paid member. We have lots of paid members
now and if I were a good bookkeeper, I could tell you how many - but I will
have this accounted for soon and will post the number on the board. Go to the
web site to become a SlowTrav member:
http://slowtalk.com/membership
If you donated in the last year, you will be notified well in advance before your
membership expires.
The SlowTrav Classifieds
In December 2003 we launched the SlowTrav Classifieds. We have over 150 classified
listings for vacation rentals,
travel consultants, cooking schools, car services, and more. Slow Travelers, please use our classifieds and support the businesses that
support SlowTrav.
www.slowtrav.com/classifieds/
If you run a travel business, take out a classified listing (from $50/year)
to support the web site and to tell Slow Travelers about your services. Read
why it is good to be listed on SlowTrav:

What's New in 2004 on SlowTrav?
SlowTrav is growing!
- We have over 800 vacation rental reviews, over 500 hotel reviews and over
800 restaurant reviews. We moved to a new SQL server data base for our reviews
last year.
- We have over 150 trip reports - these are our most popular pages! Trip
reports contain great travel details and are good to read for trip planning
or for armchair traveling.
- The message board has over 3800 members!
We were mentioned in Travel + Leisure!
SlowTrav was mentioned in the May Europe Special Issue of Travel + Leisure
magazine (page 32). Last year we were mentioned in the New York Times
(twice)
and several other newspapers. Look for an article that I wrote about Slow Travel in
the upcoming July issue of the magazine Transitions Abroad:

The message board is busy!
We have new message board software that takes advantage of recent technologies,
so you must be using a recent browser to access the board. This software
offers new features and the message board is busier than ever. We get 100 -
300 new posts each day! Come and join us:

Because the message board has become quite popular, we are trying to refocus
it on the concept of Slow Travel. Read more - What is Slow Travel?

Our Trip Reports
We introduced our new Trip Reports Manager last year. Create your multi-page trip report,
with photos, on SlowTrav. Take as long as you like, change it many times, then
submit it for publication when it is done. Have a look at the great reports
we have, and more come in every week:
