Contest Winner: Featured Photo for August
In March we had a contest to select photos to feature in the next 12 issues of Slow Tidings. Last month's featured winner was Jimmy Patterson. This month we are featuring Bob the Navigator's photo called, "The Magic of Lago Orta."
How Was Your Trip?
Instead of begging your relatives and friends to look at your photos and listen to you ramble on about that astonishing lunch on a Tuscan trattoria's terrace or the amazing afternoon wandering through an off-the-beaten path neighborhood in Paris, come back to SlowTrav! Our readers love when people who asked questions on the forums return to post about their trips. Start a new topic, revisit your original thread, submit a Trip Report, or post your photos in SlowPhotos! And please don't forget to submit your reviews, which make your recommendations or disappointments easier for others to find.
Show Us Your Trunks Contest! Extended Deadline!
As announced in our April Slow Tidings newsletter, with the 2009 travel season upon us, we thought it would help future travelers if we compiled a photo gallery of rental cars and their luggage capacities. We've extended the deadline to December 31. Post photos in this forum discussion of your luggage packed into the trunk (boot, if you prefer) of your rental car. Read about how to post a photo in a thread, here. We will enter all participants into a drawing for a yet to be determined prize, and will announce the winner in mid-January.
Along with your photo, please include the following information:
- the make/model of car
- size & quantity of luggage
- what the rental car site SAID would fit
- the rental agency used
- the country where you rented the car.
So get out your cameras, snap a couple of pictures while you are loading your car, and help us find out the truth about trunks!
